This is the inside of the book. Was donated to Bolton Library in 1821 by Robert Peel’s sons including William, our ancestor the oldest and Robert – to be the first Sir Robert and Lawrence. All were involved in the business – that in 1800 ish employed 60% of Lancashire’s male workforce (though tbh the references aren’t absolutely clear if that’s Peel & Co’s workforce or those involved in cotton printing and production of which Peel & Co was the largest…
